Fargo uses chloramine for disinfection. While chloramine is effective at the treatment plant, it can leave a noticeable taste at the tap. The pre-carbon stage in an RO system reduces it. The RO membrane then removes dissolved solids the carbon stage alone does not catch, and the remineralizing post-carbon filter adds back calcium and magnesium so your water tastes right, not stripped flat.
